Automated Precarity

Have you recently worked in an e-commerce warehouse or fulfilment centre? Did you have any positive or negative experiences involving automation? We want to speak to you!

We are researchers looking to interview e-commerce warehouse workers about their experiences of automation in the workplace. This includes any technology that measures and manages information about how fast you work, how you move your body while working, how your performance is assessed, or that automatically assigns tasks and shifts to you based on data collected by your employer.

These interviews will be short (1 hour or less) and your comments will be completely anonymous. This means that nothing that identifies you (like your name, address, or place of work) will be shared with anyone outside of the research group, including your employer. You do not need your employer’s permission to participate.

Interview participants will receive a $50 Visa gift card.
